Deka battery is known for its Gel, Flooded, and AGM battery series. Each of these battery series comes with a unique replacement warranty.

With the replacement warranty, you, the original buyer can get a replacement battery for defects in your current battery.

The duration of the Deka battery warranty varies, depending on the type of battery series and what it is used for. But the duration of the replacement warranty ranges from 3 months to 18 months.

I took time to go through the Company’s policy page to understand the core details of their warranty policy. This post will break down the terms of the warranty policy in a way that you understand.

Also, you will learn how to file a warranty claim for your battery with no external help.

Understanding How Deka Battery Warranty Works?

The Company that makes the Deka battery trusts its product enough to place a warranty on it. The warranty is a sign of product quality.

It is the manufacturer’s way of saying, ‘We vouch for the quality of our product enough to undertake to replace any product you have with defects from our end.’

So, you as a customer can file a claim under the warranty to get a replacement for your damaged battery.

How Long Is The Deka Battery Warranty?

As mentioned earlier, the warranty period on a Deka battery varies. It all depends on the battery’s series and the functionality of the battery. But generally, most Deka batteries come with an 18-month warranty.

Here is a breakdown of the warranty on all Deka battery series.

. 3 Months Replacement Warranty: AGM/ Flooded/ Gel Batteries used in full electric service.

. 12 Months Replacement Warranty: 9AGM/ 9A Batteries used in deep cycle service.

. 18 Months Replacement Warranty: 9AGM/ 9A/ Flooded Batteries used in off-road vehicles/ on-highway vehicles/ non-automotive use.

How To Check If Deka Battery Warranty Is Active?

There is one quick way to check if your Deka battery is still within the warranty period, the product receipt. Your receipt comes with a purchase date.

So, you can determine if the warranty on your battery is still active by calculating the current date from the purchase date to see if it’s within the stipulated warranty period.

What Does Deka Battery Warranty Cover?

The Deka battery warranty covers defects that occur during the manufacturing process of the battery. That includes defects in workmanship and material used in manufacturing the battery.

What Is Not Covered In Deka Battery Warranty?

There is a limit to what the warranty on your Deka battery covers. According to the information on the Company, the warranty doesn’t cover the following defects or damages:

. Damages caused by abuse or neglect, or accident.

. Batteries that have been frozen or opened.

. Batteries with electrolytes besides the one recommended by the manufacturer.

. Discharged batteries can be returned to the manufacturer for services or recharge.

. Any cost incurred during the removal or installation of the battery.

. A defect caused by a faulty electrical system or component.

. Damage caused by using the battery in an application for which it was not designed.

. Defects that occur outside the United States or Canada.

What Voids A Deka Battery Warranty?

The following are some of the factors that further invalidate the warranty on a Deka battery:

. Warranty claim on a battery that has reached its normal end of life.

. A warranty claim for a battery purchased from an unauthorized retailer.

. Filing a claim after the warranty period.

. Filing a warranty claim in another method other than the method stipulated by the Company.

. Warranty claim filed by someone who is not the first purchaser of the product, and without the authorization of the first purchaser.

How To File A Warranty For Deka Battery?

Filing a warranty claim for a Deka battery is quite easy. Simply take back the battery to the store where you purchased the battery.

If you are far from the store, call this number 1-800-237-6126 to reach a Warranty Program Administrator. The administrator will ask for your Zip code and provide you with a facility in your area to return your battery. Take your product receipt along with you.

If there is no facility in your location, you can still take the battery to a non-participating facility. Pay for the replacement and contact the administrator to send you an email to send your receipt for a refund.

What Happens After You File A Warranty For Deka Battery?

Once the facility receives your battery, and claim, it will verify the validity of your claim. If everything checks out and your warranty claim is approved, you will receive a free replacement battery.

The replacement will be a similar model to the original battery. If the model is no longer available, you will receive a replacement of a similar kind and quality as the original battery.

Note that after this, the warranty on the replacement battery will be for the remaining period of the warranty on the original battery.
